Field Recordings
I’m still relatively new to field recordings, but I’ve come to realize that you cannot fully experience a place without exploring its soundscape.
I started by capturing the sounds of sled dogs and ravens – elements that shaped my experience of living in Greenland and that I wanted to carry with me when I moved on. As I’ve explored further, I’ve come to believe we should be paying closer attention to our soundscapes and what they reveal. It’s startling how loud and intrusive our modern environments have become once you actually stop and listen.
